Conclusion
Ultimately, America could not complete its task of enforcing democracy seeing as the communist North vietnam won the war. This may have been because America pulled its troops out of vietnam in 1969 due to the protests both internally in the US and in South Eastern countries. This proves that the propaganda used as a whole during the vietnam war definitely had an impact on the cessation of the war.
Whether this is a good thing or not is hard to tell. If America had pushed further, the South may have won and may have had become a democratic state. However, this would have involved further bloodshed and casualties, casualties that would have been unnecessary.
Either way, the propaganda techniques employed during this war, especially for the anti-war side of it, proves just how much impact words and images can have on people’s opinions.
